2025 Chevrolet Blazer Common Problems by Component
26 owner complaints grouped by vehicle system.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
8 complaintsOwners report several electrical system issues with the 2025 Chevrolet Blazer, notably involving unintended braking and acceleration, infotainment system malfunctions, and telecommunication module failures. Complaints frequently mention unpredictable braking and acceleration events, with vehicles braking hard without driver input or surging forward unexpectedly. Additionally, the infotainment system is reported to blackout, flicker, and alter commands, impacting various vehicle controls like GPS and charging. Owners also describe failures in the telecommunication module, resulting in the loss of OnStar and navigation functions. These issues typically occur without warning and pose safety risks, including potential loss of vehicle control and increased accident risk, especially during navigation or emergency situations.
SERVICE BRAKES
3 complaintsOwners of the 2025 Chevrolet Blazer frequently report issues related to the service brakes, particularly involving unexpected activation of the forward collision system. Complaints describe the car abruptly stopping at low speeds, sometimes resulting in whiplash and back pain, with one incident noting an injury. Another common issue involves persistent mechanical noises, such as grinding or squeaking sounds, originating from the brake pedal area or the vehicle itself, even in new cars with low mileage. These problems often occur shortly after purchase, with one owner experiencing issues with only 140 miles on the vehicle. The unexpected braking and noise concerns suggest potential safety implications, as they can lead to sudden stops and possible driver distraction.
VISIBILITY/WIPER
3 complaintsOwners of the 2025 Chevrolet Blazer report issues with visibility primarily due to dashboard glare and malfunctioning windshield wipers. Complaints frequently mention that sunlight causes a distracting reflection of the dashboard on the windshield, significantly impairing visibility. Additionally, one owner describes a situation where the windshield wipers failed to operate during a rainstorm, requiring a vehicle restart to restore functionality. These issues present potential safety implications as they affect the driver's ability to see clearly, especially in adverse weather conditions. No specific mileage range is noted in the complaints, but used car buyers should be aware of these visibility concerns when considering this model.
FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE (2 complaints)
FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
2 complaintsOwners of the 2025 Chevrolet Blazer report issues with the Forward Collision Avoidance system activating erroneously, causing the vehicle to abruptly stop unexpectedly. This issue is noted at mileages as low as 200 and up to 18,000. Symptoms include sudden braking accompanied by a "Front Brake Applied" message, and prior notifications that sensors were disabled. Safety implications are significant as these unexpected stops occur in traffic. Additionally, one complaint mentions an unresolved clicking sound from the front suspension and difficulties in steering, while another describes a malfunctioning charging port. Buyers should be aware of these issues, especially at lower mileages.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER (2 complaints)
UNKNOWN OR OTHER
2 complaintsOwners report two primary issues with the 2025 Chevrolet Blazer. First, multiple complaints describe a significant rattling noise from the dashboard area, particularly noticeable when driving on rough roads. This noise is accompanied by a distracting glare from the dashboard onto the windshield during daylight. Second, there are reports of OnStar system failures, affecting the ability to make calls, use remote start via the app, and access navigation. These issues are noted without specific mileage or timeline details. No safety implications such as crashes or loss of control are mentioned in the complaints.
PARKING BRAKE (2 complaints)
PARKING BRAKE
2 complaintsOwners of the 2025 Chevrolet Blazer report issues related to the parking brake, specifically highlighting delays in recall repairs due to unavailable parts. One owner describes an incident where the vehicle unexpectedly shifts into park while driving, idling, and parked, necessitating a restart to resume normal operation, with this issue occurring at approximately 3,000 miles. Another owner has ceased driving the vehicle due to safety concerns, though they have not experienced the failure firsthand. Safety implications include potential loss of vehicle control due to unexpected shifts into park while driving. These reports suggest that prospective buyers should verify the completion of recall repairs and inquire about any unresolved parking brake issues.
SUSPENSION (2 complaints)
SUSPENSION
2 complaintsOwners report issues with the suspension of the 2025 Chevrolet Blazer, specifically involving the front control arm bushing. One complaint describes a scenario where the front passenger tire blew out while driving at approximately 25 mph, attributed to a torn front control arm bushing. This issue presents a potential safety risk, as it could lead to loss of vehicle control. The complaint does not specify a mileage range, but the incident is noted as dangerous. Buyers should be aware that this problem could require immediate attention to ensure safe operation.

How We Calculate Reliability Scores
Auto Reliability Index scores are calculated on a 0–100 scale using a weighted formula that combines multiple public data sources. Each factor is weighted based on its predictive value for real-world ownership experience.
Key Ranking Factors
Complaint Severity
NHTSA owner complaints weighted by component category (e.g., powertrain, safety systems, electronics, cosmetic) — safety-critical issues carry more weight than cosmetic ones. Adjusted for sales volume so high-volume models aren't unfairly penalized.
Repair Costs
Independent reliability ratings based on repair frequency, average repair costs, and severity of typical repairs for each model.
Recall Impact
Number of NHTSA recalls weighted by severity. “Stop driving” and fire-risk recalls are penalized more heavily than minor software or labeling recalls.
Issue Diversity
Measures how many major vehicle systems (engine, transmission, electrical, braking, etc.) have recorded complaints. A vehicle with issues spread across many systems may indicate systemic quality issues.
Scores are grouped into four tiers:
- 80–100: Excellent— Top-tier reliability, minimal issues
- 60–79: Good— Reliable with some minor concerns
- 40–59: Mixed— Notable issues, research before buying
- 0–39: Risky— Significant problems, proceed with caution
Data is sourced from NHTSA recall records, owner complaint filings, and independent repair databases. Scores are recalculated as new data becomes available. While the weighting model is proprietary, all underlying data sources are public and traceable.
