FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023–2026 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles equipped with a left-side radiator/fan combination. Excess fuel may spill into the vehicle fuel-filler pocket during refueling and leak onto an ignition source.
Consequence
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source, such as hot engine or exhaust components, can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Dealers will install a shield to divert spilled fuel, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 14, 2025. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N252514930.

2024 Chevrolet Corvette Common Problems by Component
18 owner complaints grouped by vehicle system.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
4 complaintsOwners report several electrical system issues with the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette, with common complaints about the vehicle's infotainment system and instrument cluster failing to turn off, leading to battery drainage and inability to restart the car. Some owners describe error codes related to the Body Control Module, causing false alarms such as the front trunk latch being open, which can trigger a speed limitation to 25 MPH and sudden deceleration. These issues are reported to occur around 500 miles or within months of ownership, with some cases leading to near-accidents due to unexpected loss of propulsion on highways. Additionally, one owner mentions being locked inside the vehicle during a software update, with potential safety concerns on hot days. These patterns suggest potential safety implications, particularly in high-speed traffic scenarios.
WHEELS
2 complaintsOwners report issues with the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette's carbon fiber wheels, including air loss in all four tires from delivery and difficulties with tire installation due to the specialized nature of the wheels. One incident involved a wheel rupture during installation, resulting in technician injury and rendering the vehicle inoperable for over two months. Another complaint describes defective front wheels with no warning system notifications, causing significant front-end vibrations and irregular tire wear, confirmed by a GM technician. Safety implications include the risk of injury from wheel failure and potential loss of vehicle control. These issues are not resolved by GM under warranty, and aftermarket solutions are sought by owners.
SEAT BELTS
2 complaintsOwners of the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette report issues related to seat belts, particularly concerning the availability of parts for recall repairs and seat belt retraction problems. One complaint highlights the unavailability of parts needed for a recall repair, leading to delays in addressing the issue. Another owner describes a seat belt that fully retracted and could not be released on the first day of use, necessitating a 155-mile drive without a functioning seat belt. This incident is associated with a specific build date, suggesting a possible pattern with vehicles produced on that day. Safety implications are noted, as driving without a seat belt poses a significant risk. These issues are reported at very low mileage, as one case occurred immediately upon vehicle delivery.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER (2 complaints)
UNKNOWN OR OTHER
2 complaintsOwners of the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette report issues with the light-colored interior causing significant glare from the dashboard, which impairs visibility, particularly when sunlight reflects off the surface. This glare is noted to interfere with the driver's line of sight, especially when making turns, leading to near-miss incidents with pedestrians. Additionally, there is a complaint regarding the functionality of the hands-free talk button on the steering wheel, which requires a subscription service for activation, raising safety concerns. These issues emerge soon after purchase, as indicated by the timeline of the complaints, and pose potential safety risks during vehicle operation.
STRUCTURE (1 complaints)
STRUCTURE
1 complaintThe electronically-activated hood release, latching mechanism on my 2024 Chevrolet Corvette VIN 1G1YA2D42R5116964 has been repeatedly malfunctioning since August, 2025. The hood either pops open of its own accord or it will not close securely, leaving the occupants of the vehicle to speculate if the hood will spontaneously open blinding the driver in traffic.
ENGINE (1 complaints)
ENGINE
1 complaintSafety-relatedOn August 1st, my '24 Z06 unexpectedly caught fire after a short evening of driving — 7 miles to dinner, 7 miles to a store, then 2 miles to drop my wife off at the grocery store. I was heading to refuel when the fire started. The car was in Sport Mode, so the fans were running. Thankfully, we were able to put it out. GM sent three inspectors, including an independent expert who noted that most fire cases he sees result in the car being reduced to a blob. On August 28, Scott Bell (VP of Global Chevrolet) told our dealer he would expedite a replacement. We placed the order — but the following week, GM reversed course, claiming the fire was caused by "non-car material" and not their responsibility. Meanwhile, our insurance company determined the fire originated from the gas vent system. They’ll cover the damage (9,000), but not the cause — leaving us to pay 1,000 out-of-pocket for the vent system. No safety lights were indicated while driving, or even after the fire (it still starts). The car is in the process of being repaired, so probably no longer available to inspect. I, as the insurance company, believe this is related to the recall on this car
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM (1 complaints)
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
1 complaintPer recall NHTSA ID Number: 25V536000 GM dealers still have No notice of this recall and known corrective actions to fix this fire risk. I’ve called several local dealerships in my area for the past several weeks to have vehicle repaired with zero help! These dealerships had to stop the sales of their z06/zr1 inventory until this issue was resolved which they have because they are now selling them but keep stating NO notice from GM is on file of corrective action to resolve fire risk on the vehicles privately owned that are affected.
AIR BAGS (1 complaints)
AIR BAGS
1 complaintSafety-relatedVehicle was hit on driver side/a column. Head hit window. No side air bag deployed. Vehicle is getting repaired at body shop. My son received a concussion; neck pain; numbness in hand. Vehicle inspected by insurance company. Police report available; other driver cited for careless driving. Vehicle hit so hard it was pushed onto sidewalk adjacent to roadway.
FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE (1 complaints)
FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
1 complaintAEB came standard on my 2024 Corvette. It has never worked since the day I bought it [XXX]. The selling dealer, Service Chevrolet in Lafayette La. worked on it and GM said all systems checked OK. BUT THE AEB STILL DID NOT WORK. GM suggested another GM dealer try to fix it. The second GM dealer reported GM techs would not recommend anything because system tested OK. BUT AEB STILL DID NOT WORK. Third trip to original dealer same result-system tested OK so they did nothing BUT THE AEB STILL DOES NOT WORK. There is obviously a defect in the system and GM refuses to find it. I suspect this is just the tip of the AEB iceberg for GM. GM would rather stick their head in the sand than face the real problem they are facing. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
SERVICE BRAKES (1 complaints)
SERVICE BRAKES
1 complaint2024 Corvette included AEB. Window sticker shows AEB included. Build code shows AEB in build. Car one month old 650 miles. The sales dealership and second GM dealership communications with GM tech reads system as OK. BUT DOES NOT WORK. GM system tech says system reads OK BUT THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING HAS NEVER ASSISTED OAR APPLIED ONE OUNCE F BRAKES SINCE I BOUGHT IT 12/06/2024. I reported to GM consumer complaints and they keep reading from a script "if system check says vehicle is performing to specs, etc." BUT THE VEHICLE IS NOT PERFORMING TO SPECS. The AEB is not working at all. GMs refusal to address the problem is completly unsafe and unacceptable.

How We Calculate Reliability Scores
Auto Reliability Index scores are calculated on a 0–100 scale using a weighted formula that combines multiple public data sources. Each factor is weighted based on its predictive value for real-world ownership experience.
Key Ranking Factors
Complaint Severity
NHTSA owner complaints weighted by component category (e.g., powertrain, safety systems, electronics, cosmetic) — safety-critical issues carry more weight than cosmetic ones. Adjusted for sales volume so high-volume models aren't unfairly penalized.
Repair Costs
Independent reliability ratings based on repair frequency, average repair costs, and severity of typical repairs for each model.
Recall Impact
Number of NHTSA recalls weighted by severity. “Stop driving” and fire-risk recalls are penalized more heavily than minor software or labeling recalls.
Issue Diversity
Measures how many major vehicle systems (engine, transmission, electrical, braking, etc.) have recorded complaints. A vehicle with issues spread across many systems may indicate systemic quality issues.
Scores are grouped into four tiers:
- 80–100: Excellent — Top-tier reliability, minimal issues
- 60–79: Good — Reliable with some minor concerns
- 40–59: Mixed — Notable issues, research before buying
- 0–39: Risky — Significant problems, proceed with caution
Data is sourced from NHTSA recall records, owner complaint filings, and independent repair databases. Scores are recalculated as new data becomes available. While the weighting model is proprietary, all underlying data sources are public and traceable.
