FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Passport and 2023-2025 Pilot vehicles. The fuel filler neck tube and fuel filler pipe may separate, allowing fuel to leak.

Consequence

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and repair the fuel filler neck tube and pipe as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 7, 2025. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is OKM.

When backing out of a driveway onto a busy street, I put the car in reverse and back out into the lane of traffic. I then put the car into drive and try to pull forward into the lane of traffic with cars coming up behind me but the car does not respond to the gas pedal for many seconds. I have almost been rear ended because of this several times.

Sun roof glass exploded without cause, coving the inside of the vehicle in glass. Vehicle was not struck by anything as it was parked at the time under a carport. Sunroof exploding covered the occupants of the Vehicle in shattered glass.

The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Passport equipped with Continental Tires, Tire Line: Cross Contact, Tire Size: 265/45/R20, DOT Number: 1A30H5223. The contact stated that there was a blister on the driver's side front tire on the side wall close to the tread. The contact stated that the blister was the size of a lemon. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised the contact to call the tire manufacturer. The contact called the manufacturer and was advised to take the vehicle back to the dealer. The dealer informed the contact that the tire had to be replaced out-of-pocket. Additionally, the contact also noticed a small blister, the size of a cherry on the rear driver's side tire on the side wall near the tread. The vehicle manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The vehicle and tire failure mileage was 2,299.
