2024 Infiniti QX60 Common Problems by Component
16 owner complaints grouped by vehicle system.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
4 complaintsSafety-relatedOwners report electrical system issues in the 2024 Infiniti QX60, with some describing engine stalling after exposure to water, such as after a car wash, and sudden engine shutdowns while driving at highway speeds. Complaints frequently mention malfunctioning Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including failures in Automatic Emergency Braking and Parking Collision Warning systems, with one incident leading to a minor crash. Electrical issues also include rear windows lowering by themselves and side mirrors failing to unfold, often starting around six months into ownership and at approximately 31,500 miles. Safety implications are significant, as these problems can lead to loss of vehicle control and increased risk of accidents, particularly in heavy traffic or adverse weather conditions.
VISIBILITY/WIPER
3 complaintsOwners of the 2024 Infiniti QX60 report several issues related to visibility and wipers. A common issue involves a distorted view through the windshield, particularly noticeable at night due to a double image effect, which is reportedly linked to vehicles equipped with a heads-up display. Another frequently mentioned problem is the vibration of the driver-side door mirror glass, which can blur the image and affect lane change safety; this issue is noted to be present across multiple vehicles and confirmed by a dealership, though no fix is available. Additionally, some owners describe water being pushed onto the driver's side window by the windshield wiper during moderate to heavy rain, causing streaks that obscure visibility through the driver's side mirror. These issues are reported across various vehicles, including test drives and loaners, but specific mileage ranges are not mentioned.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER
2 complaintsOwners of the 2024 Infiniti QX60 report issues with the driver's side mirror assembly and the panoramic sunroof. Complaints frequently mention the driver's side mirror vibrating at low speeds even after replacement, with the dealership and customer service indicating it is within engineering specifications. Additionally, there is a report of the panoramic sunroof exploding while driving on the highway without any apparent external cause. These issues are noted around the 15,000-mile mark. The mirror vibration is described as a distraction, while the sunroof incident could pose a safety risk due to the potential for sudden glass breakage.

SEAT BELTS
1 complaintOur granddaughter was in the 3rd row seat with a seat belt. We think she put the shoulder part behind her back. After she unbuckled, she tried to exit but the seat belt ILR locked her in. The seat belt wrapped around her waist and locked her in. She could not move - or get out. We tried for 30 mins and finally cut the seat belt. If we had had an accident, we could not have gotten her out. Pictures/video's can be downloaded:Here is a link to the Video’s and Pictures. 1 complaintThe contact owns a 2024 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that the vehicle intermittently jolted while stopping, and the infotainment screen and instrument panel intermittently turned off and restarted independently. Additionally, the blind spot detection system and the Lane Keep Assist were intermittently inoperable, and the power window master door lock button was inoperable. The transmission slipped out of gear once. Additionally, the hatch failed to open, preventing to contact from accessing the wheelchair. The contact stated that as a [XXX] he was overwhelmed and saddened by the persistent failures and the inability to access the wheelchair as needed. The contact stated that the vehicle was purchased from a dealer who had sold the business to another dealer, who refused to honor the warranty on the vehicle. The contact called another dealer, Palm Springs Nissan (68177 Kyle Rd, Cathedral City, CA 92234); and was provided the same information as the first dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to tow the vehicle to a dealer 3 hours away at the owner's expense; however, the contact stated to the manufacturer that towing the vehicle should be covered under the warranty policy. The contact had purchased the extended warranty, and the vehicle was paid off. The manufacturer declined to cover the towing and denied further assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

STEERING (1 complaints)
STEERING
1 complaintTo Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this letter to formally report a safety-related defect involving my leased Infiniti vehicle, serviced at Edison Infiniti in New Jersey on August 1, 2025. Despite reporting excessive tire wear and a persistent pull to the right, the dealership concluded that the alignment was within factory specifications and attributed the damage solely to a lack of tire rotation. Based on this assessment, I paid out of pocket for a wheel alignment and replacement tires. However, the condition of the removed front tires tells a different story. The tires show extreme treadwear down to the internal cords, a clear indication of prolonged misalignment or defective suspension geometry. This level of degradation is not consistent with normal wear and tear on a vehicle with fewer than 17,000 miles. It compromised steering control and posed a serious safety risk, making it difficult to maintain lane position and safe handling. I believe this issue may reflect a broader defect in alignment or suspension geometry that could affect other vehicles of the same make and model. I have attempted resolution through the dealership and Infiniti Consumer Affairs without success. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this issue as a potential safety defect and advise on next steps.
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING (1 complaints)
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
1 complaintThe contact owns a 2024 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, the vehicle experienced electronic malfunctions with unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the dipstick was not properly in place. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that on another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the system malfunction message was displayed. The vehicle was towed to the same local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but another failure occurred. The contact stated that the smoke alarm had alerted her to an issue. While the vehicle was parked in the garage and unattended, the engine overheated. The Fire Department was called to the scene and detected smoke coming from the engine. The internal temperature of the vehicle was 168 degrees. The vehicle was towed to the same local dealer, who determined that the vehicle had overheated, and the vehicle should be picked up. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.

1 complaintWhile at a stop in DRIVE, the car would automatically shift itself into Neutral without warning. When I contacted the dealer, they were aware of this issue in other vehicles. I brough the car in for service and in the description of the work, the mention that they knew where to address the problem, as it is a known issue. The dealership stated, "PREFORMED BATTERY PERFORMANCE TEST PER PREVIOUS TECH LINE CASES WITH SIMILAR ISSUES. BATTERY PASSED TEST WITH CPX900 AND DCA8000. CONTACTED TECHLINE AND WAS INFORMED TO CHECK FUEL PRESSURE AND FUEL PRESSURE BLEED OFF DUE TO SIMILAR CASES EXHIBITING SAME CONDITIONS. FOUND LPFP TO BE ONLY PRODUCING 45PSI AT IDLE AND IMMEDIATE BLEED OFF WHEN VEHICLE SHUT OFF. CAUSING CAR TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AS FAIL SAFE * REPLACE LOW PRESSURE FUEL PUMP PER TECHLINE RECOMMENDATION"

How We Calculate Reliability Scores
Auto Reliability Index scores are calculated on a 0–100 scale using a weighted formula that combines multiple public data sources. Each factor is weighted based on its predictive value for real-world ownership experience.
Key Ranking Factors
Complaint Severity
NHTSA owner complaints weighted by component category (e.g., powertrain, safety systems, electronics, cosmetic) — safety-critical issues carry more weight than cosmetic ones. Adjusted for sales volume so high-volume models aren't unfairly penalized.
Repair Costs
Independent reliability ratings based on repair frequency, average repair costs, and severity of typical repairs for each model.
Recall Impact
Number of NHTSA recalls weighted by severity. “Stop driving” and fire-risk recalls are penalized more heavily than minor software or labeling recalls.
Issue Diversity
Measures how many major vehicle systems (engine, transmission, electrical, braking, etc.) have recorded complaints. A vehicle with issues spread across many systems may indicate systemic quality issues.
Scores are grouped into four tiers:
- 80–100: Excellent— Top-tier reliability, minimal issues
- 60–79: Good— Reliable with some minor concerns
- 40–59: Mixed— Notable issues, research before buying
- 0–39: Risky— Significant problems, proceed with caution
Data is sourced from NHTSA recall records, owner complaint filings, and independent repair databases. Scores are recalculated as new data becomes available. While the weighting model is proprietary, all underlying data sources are public and traceable.
Get notified when new recalls or reliability data is added for the Infiniti QX60.
