The car surges forward without warning in one report, hitting a curb and damaging a tire and fender. The dealer would not inspect it until body repairs were done. The other complaint is about the Driver Attention Warning, which cannot be turned off. It beeps and shows take-a-break alerts in heavy highway traffic even when they are not needed. The owner calls these false alerts a serious distraction and says Hyundai has not offered a software fix. Sudden acceleration is a crash risk. The warning problem is a driver-distraction concern. The front bumper cracks or comes loose after light contact. Complaints describe thin plastic that splits when it touches a snow and ice pile, and a bumper and fender liner that detach after a low-speed swerve. In those cases the liner clips fail and at least one clip goes missing. A noise from the front can come before the parts fall away. Owners worry that a loose bumper could affect stability at highway speed. Repair costs reported range from $1,000 to $1,800. One of those repairs was not covered by warranty. No mileage pattern appears.
